5 Design Trends to Love in Loews Vanderbilt’s Latest Renovation
Who doesn’t love a makeover—especially one that completely transforms a space and opens up more ways you can enjoy it? Here in Nashville, Loews Vanderbilt Hotel, in collaboration with Simeone Deary Design Group, has been working behind the scenes on a top-to-toe meeting space renovation.
It’s not just about looks, either. To honor the city’s musical heritage, each conference and event space at Loews Vanderbilt is named after one of Music City’s iconic music studios—the creative breeding grounds for some of country and rock’s biggest stars and most beloved albums. The new nomenclature goes beyond cute labels, too. Just as a band or musician enters the studio to create something new and unique alongside sound engineers and producers, our clients will enter these new events spaces to create magic of their own.
The intention behind the new design was to set the stage for weddings, meetings and other social events. And, as we noticed perusing the mood boards and sneaking peeks as the project unfolds, the project also provides inspiration for your own interior design projects.
These are our favorite design trends, as illustrated by Loews Vanderbilt’s new meeting rooms and event spaces.
Bringing the Outside In
We’re all in need of some soothing these days, and time in nature has been proven to help reduce stress and leave us feeling refreshed. The same maxim applies to indoor spaces—where you can bring a taste of the outdoors in. Houseplants are delightful, but as the new meeting spaces at Loews Vanderbilt show us, you can also get this effect via garden sculptures and other foliage features like the ivy that cascades down from the skylight in the Starstruck Gallery.
A Modern Take on History
Vintage details bring a distinct polish to a room, and we’re excited to see these touches come to life at Loews Vanderbilt. To honor Nashville’s musical past, the Simeone Deary team have utilized instrumental details to great effect, alongside sleek Mid-Century Modern styled furniture, dramatic black brick and retro finishes like Edison bulbs.
Natural Light
It’s hard to go wrong with light and bright. Crisp, neutral colored walls and clean lines create an airy, fresh feeling—an instant mood-booster. Even when a space doesn’t allow for floor-to-ceiling windows, you can achieve the feel of natural light via skylights and atriums and warm lighting fixtures.
Rich Textures & Natural Tones
No one said meeting rooms had to be bland, beige and blah! Nature serves as inspiration yet again when it comes to the color palette of Loews Vanderbilt’s new meeting spaces, and this concept works well in homes, too. At the hotel, this trend comes to life in natural woods, sand-colored neutrals, and pops of a glorious, deep green.
Dedicated, Flexible Spaces
Yes, ballrooms need to be large and flexible enough to serve as a blank canvas to a wide range of big events. But there are creative ways to divide large spaces, and to create convenient gathering spots that people will naturally gravitate towards. The new meeting spaces will feature a mobile bar as a focal point and cozy seating nooks in a mezzanine area.
