Summer fun in NYC
Fun things to do this August
While the temperatures might still be heating up in New York City, August brings a flurry of fun events not to be missed. The Concierge team at Loews Regency New York Hotel are sharing their favorite things to see and do for the final dogs days of summer.
Summer Streets: This happens only three times a year, when Park Avenue, becomes free of cars and busses in August from 7am to 1pm. Enjoy a morning stroll, or run to take in the picturesque views, or grab a CitiBike for a mid-morning bike ride uptown or downtown. No matter how you choose to spend your Saturday, feel the energy of the carless city streets.
U.S. Open: Take the 7 train and head to Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows to cheer on some of the best tennis talents the world has to see. Whether you opt for a day pass or evening out in Queens, this sporting event is not to be missed, especially with the #Instagram worthy Honey Deuce drink in hand.
Summer Movie Nights: There are only a few more weeks to enjoy a curated selection of outdoor movies at some of the city’s most popular parks. Check out the schedule for Bryant Park or Hudson River Park downtown to catch your favorite flick.
After all this outdoor fun, cool off with a scoop of gelato from the Sant Ambroeus cart on 61st street or our Park Avenue Spritz at The Regency Bar & Grill as part of Summerfest by Loews Hotels programming. Guests can still save this summer with the hotel's Suite Summer Deal.
And for those looking for another way to say salute to summer, visit the hotel’s Concierge desk for a list of indoor and outdoor seasonal fun.
