Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center Unveils Rotating Art Exhibit
Featuring Glass-Blown Artworks by UTA Faculty and Students
In celebration of its first anniversary, Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center is proud to announce the debut of a new rotating art exhibit in partnership with University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), home to the nation's largest educational glass-blowing studio.
Loews Arlington Hotel partnered with UTA to feature a curated collection of glass-blown artworks displayed in custom vitrines in the hotel Lobby.
The first installation showcases a series of artworks by UTA art professor and head of the Masters of Fine Arts - Glass Program, Justin Ginsberg. Each piece was created by heating the glass to 1,500 - 2,000°F before being submerged into giant tanks of water, causing the glass to crack but not break. He shares his inspiration and the process of making the selected pieces here.
This collaboration between Loews Arlington Hotel and UTA reflects Loews Hotels' commitment to supporting emerging artists in Arlington and provides a platform to present their work to a diverse audience. The art will rotate seasonally to continually feature work by talented UTA students in the glass department who will have the opportunity to submit their art to a panel for consideration to be on display.
The new exhibit is part of the Local by Loews Hotels program, where guests and Arlington residents are invited to immerse themselves in local culture and experience the heart of the city without leaving our doorstep.
Loews Arlington Hotel is connected by skybridge to Live! by Loews - Arlington which also has a partnership with UTA students, inviting guests to Imbibe in Artistry with Hand-Crafted Glassware.
