Experience Art Basel at Loews Miami Beach Hotel
The renowned South Beach resort presents its annual Art Collective
Art and design fuse with fashion and libations over Art Basel at this year’s Loews Miami Beach Hotel Art Collective. The renowned South Beach resort, celebrating its 25th anniversary this December, and home to an expansive collection of multi-medium works of art, brings together artists and experiences for a series of unique activations that capture the spirit of Art Basel and Miami Beach.
As part of this year’s collective, Loews Miami Beach Hotel welcomes Aaron T Stephan as official Artist in Residence. Aaron presents a wry look at the world around him – focusing on the complex web of information carried by everyday materials and objects. His recent work explores the role of public monuments, the impact of their history on public discourse and the possibility to reposition them for a new future.
His impactful installation “Structures of Revolution” can be seen at the hotel’s Palm Court and merges iconic components of three famous monuments: Tatlin’s Tower, Eifel Tower and the interior structure of the Statue of Liberty. Together, they tell a story of revolution, industry, power and collective identity, forming a dynamic intertwining whole that encompasses a swirling century of ideals.
Aaron T Stephan’s work is presented courtesy of Claire Oliver Gallery and includes a collection of cyanotypes on display in the hotel’s main lobby through December 9th. As official host hotel for SCOPE Art Show, visitors will get a preview of what to expect, as other works by Stephan can be seen at the contemporary art pavilion, located on Ocean Drive and 8th street. Additional Art Basel events include an evening with artist Derek Gores, as well as premium spirit activations and exclusive designer trunk shows. Art lovers are invited to enjoy Loews Miami Beach Hotel Art Collective activations, all of which are complimentary to attend and located on property:

- Derek Gores once again brings his collage works to Loews Miami Beach live in the main lobby. Watch Derek create unique works of art using various mediums including paper, magazine pages and more during this unique art studio in the round event.
Meet Artist in Residence Aaron T Stephan
