Insider Tips: Download the Universal Studios App to keep an eye on ride wait times for rides and plan for an early lunch so you can hit the The World-Famous Studio Tour early before the line grows later in the day! And if you splurge on a wand from Ollivanders™ in Hogsmeade you can ask them to hold the box for you at the register. They’ll have it ready for pick it up at the nearest gift shop at the park entrance before you head home so you don’t have to carry it with you throughout the park.

Giraffes at LA Zoo

Located about 15 minutes from Loews Hollywood Hotel, the LA Zoo is always a fun outing for the family. Get up close and personal with lions, tigers and bears (oh my!) You’ll find yourself learning about some truly incredible creatures and there’s always a helpful docent around who specializes in particular animals. The giraffes are always a big hit and if you plan your day just right you’ll even get a chance to feed them. You may even spot a peacock or two roaming the grounds…Fun fact: an inside source shared that they’re all named “Doug”!
Griffith Observatory

Overlooking all of Los Angeles, Griffith Observatory provides a breath of fresh air as you hover high over the city below. Stroll through the exterior or this popular attraction for photo opportunities galore before heading inside for a break from the sun and an educational walk-through of the history and mysteries of the cosmos. For a small fee of $7 ($5 for students/seniors and $3 for children), visit the Samuel Oschin Planetarium for an incredible visual experience and to enjoy a quick rest from all the walking. Featured in numerous Hollywood films and television shows, it’s no wonder this gem perched high up in the Hollywood Hills has become an iconic LA landmark!
