The first thing to know about this hotel is that its posh address affords certain luxuries. Mainly, that you feel like you are living in an Upper East Side neighborhood. And though it’s close to Central Park and dozens of tourist attractions, you absolutely feel like a local. The hotel has a doorman (of course), valet parking, a nice lobby and a fantastic bar, the Regency Bar & Grill, just to the left as you enter. During its Summerfest, find fun cocktails and mocktails. There’s a fitness room (with Peloton bikes), a spa, shoeshine service, room service and many more amenities befitting a AAA Four-Diamond hotel. The room • We had a basic room with two double beds, but it was bigger than any basic room I’ve been in. It was even large enough to bring in a very nice cot (really, a moveable twin bed), and have a table and chairs. The hotel has 379 guestrooms, including 58 suites, some curated by designers such as Nate Berkus and Meyer Davis. My kids loved the bathroom, which featured a TV built into the mirror.
